Poker, Wine and other reasons to visit Batumi

Batumi is the face of modern Georgia. Its beautiful beaches are equally flooded with Europeans, Russian-speaking guests and neighbors from the Caucasus, nightclubs invite the best DJs, hotels offer quality service and restaurants – delicious dishes of national cuisine. There is always something to do here. High-class hotels are connected to the historical center, which creates a feeling of staying in Europe, supplemented by Georgian color.

Seven kilometers is the length of the Batumi boulevard, which is equipped with bicycle paths. Fans of beach holidays will always find here a piece of the Black Sea coast to their liking.“Must visit” is a cable car, which you need to go up from the Maritime Station (next to the Leogrand hotel). It ends with a viewing platform with excellent views of Batumi, the sea and the mountains. An important urban symbolic is the statue of Ali and Nino, which moves all the time and symbolizes love and separation. You can taste khinkali or khachapuri, and learn all the subtleties of local cuisine visiting the Batumi market, where they sell home wine, chhurchchellu and local cheeses. One can talk for a long time about the hospitality of the Georgian people  – every guest for them as a relative, whom they have not seen for a long time. They are glad to everyone, open and cordial to all. You will feel the main guest anywhere, wherever you go.

There are few options to get to Batumi:

  • It is easy to get connection to Batumi via Istanbul from most of European and Asian cities.
  • If you want to discover several Georgian cities fly to Tbilisi (TBS) and take a fast train for 5 hours to get to Batumi. The train schedule is available on the Georgian Railway.
